Dismantling Construction of Old Guokeng Bridge in Zhangzhou

The old Guokeng Bridge in Zhangzhou,Fujian Province is an open spandrel,cate-(narian) two-way curved arch bridge with constant sections.After comprehensive evaluation,the Bridge is defined as a dangerous bridge that should be dismantled and reconstructed.In this paper,the construction of dismantling of the Bridge is presented,specifically the full span of the superstructure of the Bridge is dismantled to let it collapse onto ground where the dismantled parts are then removed,and the substructure is dismantled by controlled blasting.The construction scheme adopted for the dismantling is practical,reasonable,simple and the construction is smooth.
