Study on the Mechanical Properties of Fiber Reinforced Soil
Abstract:Based on Sichuan secondary highway embankment project. the mechanical properties of cement-soil, glass fiber cement-soil and basalt fiber cement-soil have been studied through laboratory tests.The results show that the mechanical strength of soil-cement increases in a power function relationship with the increase of maintenance period. The mechanical strength of soil-cement is positively correlated with the cement dose, and strength growth trend of soil-cement can be predicted by the strength growth model established. When the cement content is more than 6 %, the increasing rate of soil-cement water stability coefficient slows down. The mechanical strength of soil-cement mixed with fiber has significantly improved, and the reinforcement effect of basalt fiber is slightly better than that of glass fiber. The compressive strength and splitting strength of soil-cement mixed with 1 % glass fiber have increased by 230.0 %, 27.5 % respectively. The strength growth of fibrous soil-cement is basically consistent with that of soil-cement. The 28 d mechanical strength of fibrous soil-cement has increased significantly before incubation, and the compressive strength of fibrous soil-cement at 28 d is at least 78.9 % of that at 180 d. and the splitting strength at 28 days is at least 77.8 % of that of 180 d splitting strength.
