Abstract:Shanghai City Transportation Management Office has built a public transport vehicle operation supervision system based on GPS technique which provides the intelligent management of the supply situation of bus shifts in lines. The data of the system mainly comes from on-board GPS terminals. Due to the limitation of GPS technology itself, it's impossible to obtain accurate statistics because of the loss of data packets at ends of lines. This paper puts forward a method of combining RFID technology and GPS technology, improving the recognition rate up to 99.5% for buses passing through the stations at ends of lines, and ensuring the accuracy and authority of statistics on bus shift supply.
