| Abstract: | The situation of railway passenger traffic in the market economy is analyzed. It is argued that the present principle for determination of through passenger flow in laying out passenger train schemes should be revised to meet the market requirements and that benefit concept should be adopted. A benefit principle for laying out passenger train schemes is proposed. The corresponding formulas and an example are presented. |
