On Foreignization and Domestication from the Poem Translation of Hong Loumeng

Through a comparative study of cultural information translation of poems in the classical Chinese novel, Hong Loumeng, the paper attempts to answer the question as to how to maintain the source language cultural peculiarity in translation. Finally it concludes that the strategy of foreignization works better for effectively preserving and dissimilating the source language cultural peculiarity and heritage to the target reader.
