| Abstract: | Christiane Nord is one of the leading translation functionalists in German. She analyzes the intratextual and extratextual factors impacing on translation in her Text Analysis in Translation. This paper applies the model for translation-oriented text analysis by Christiane Nord to analyze the extratextual factors including sender, sender＇ s intention, audience, medium, time of communication, place of communication, motive for eommunication, text function, which impact on the E-C translation of WTO legal texts. The purpose of writing this paper is to broaden the horizon of the translation theory and practice of WTO legal texts. |
