Optimize the Transport Structure to Boost Railway Development

Development of the transport industry is restricted by resources and environment. Different transport modes also differ a lot due to their variability in energy consumption and environment impact. In China an essential principle to follow is that different transport modes shall achieve harmonious development despite of restriction of resources and environment. The railway sector shall further carries out the scientific outlook on development, enhances coordination and macro readjustment and control, promotes optimization of trans- port structure, improves the railway transport capacity as well as pushes forward the construction of an energy-efficient and environment- friendly society.
