| Abstract: | Beginning with the brief review of the history of commercial ships and naval ships,the significance of classification of commercial ships,the traditional internal standards for naval ship design and the state-of-the-art of the classification of naval ships abroad are introduced in this paper.Then the reasons and significance of classification of naval ships are analyzed and the key problems that should be overcome in the process of the classification are pointed out.Finally the prospects and suggestions for classification of Chinese naval ships are presented. |
