| Abstract: | Cast iron brake shoe is still widely used in tread braking system for railway vediches.This paper introduces the development history and trend of cast iron brake shoe in Japan,and outlines the achievements which have been made in the design of reinforce- ment plate for the brake shoe and in the reduction of hot crack on the brake shoe. |
