| Abstract: | An introduction is made about the characteristics of the electrodynamic braking and electro-pneu matic blended braking of 8K electric locomotive. It is illustrated respectively in the paper the principle of regenerative braking and regulation and control of the braking current in terms of the power circuits and control circuits. The main converter commutation process due to regenerative braking is also analyzed, and reasons of regenerative overturn caused by pantograph jumping and arcing are explained. |
