Abstract:The methods of pipeline defects repair technique can be categorized into three main types—the welding type,the clamping fixture type and the fibrous composite reinforcement type.The reinforcement technique with carbon fiber composite possesses the optimal combination properties and the widest application potentiality.The paper presents the technology of carbon fiber composite material used for repair,its working principle,and its application in oil gas transmission pipeline and gas-fired pipe.The results show that the carbon fiber composite system can be in-line used to repair the corroded pipe without any welding,which effectively decrease the risk in common repair operations.But the galvanic corrosion behavior between carbon fiber composite and metal pipelines should be researched.
