Abstract:The interaction between flow and topography may result in different forms of complex morphologies in the river,and alternate bars are one kind of these formation mechanism is the instability of the bottom topograph ologies.Researches show that the corresponding y.In this paper, numerical simulation method and results of alternate bars caused by the bed instability were presented.The ADI scheme was implemented to solve the flow equation,and the equation for bed level change was solved by Euler-WENO scheme,which was more stable than the traditional schemes.This coupled computation model of flow and bottom morphology was used to study the evolution of the straight channel with alternate bars.
