Principle and Research of Hydrodynamic Retarders of Automatic Transmission

Based on analyzing work principle of hydrodynamic retarders of automatic transmission, the necessity of installing the hydrodynamic retarder on heavy vehicles are proved. By studying the work processes and retarding ability of hydrodynamic retarders, the related measure curve can be obtained. Finally, the article makes a conclusion that installing hydrodynamic retarder can play an assisted role in increasing the lifespan of travel brake and improving driving safety.
