"Public Transit Priority" and Urban Sustainable Traffic

The urban traffic is one of the infrastructure and image symbols of a city, and is the important component of comprehensive traffic system. With the coming of Shanghai Expo 2010 and the announcement of the "Eleventh Five-year" Comprehensive Traffic Development Planning and the other relevant documents, the "Public Transit Priority" has become the main body of the urban traffic development in Shanghai and in the whole country. This article focuses on the interpretation of the policy documents and its background, combining the "public transit priority" with the urban sustainable traffic, the article discusses the both internal relation in order to give advice on the environmental protection and the sustainable urban traffic development.
