Abstract:Firstly,the layout,scale and coverage of rail transit network in Tokyo Metropolitan Area were introduced,and the development law of rail transit and urban integration in Tokyo Metropolitan Area from the three dimensions of rail transit system and urban planning evolution,rail transit system and urban development level,rail transit system and urban functional layout was analyzed, the relationship between rail transit system and residential population distribution,employment distribution,urban spatial structure and urban functional layout was explored. The reasons for the coordinated development of rail transit and cities were analyzed from four aspects:multi-level rail transit system in Tokyo Metropolitan Area,various development modes guided by public transport,flexible and diversified network operation organization and continuously updated infrastructure. Finally,it puts forward the experience that can be used for reference for the development of rail transit in China:promoting the integration of rail transit planning and urban planning,constructing rail transit oriented urban development model and strengthening rail network operation organization.
