Abstract:Combined with the specific problems encountered in the implementation of the Chaoyang flyover crossing scheme the monolithicall suspended beam beam scheme is in the Huanan Road project in Guangzhou, an in-depth comparison is made between y cast beam scheme frequently used in the design of flyover crossings and the scheme. Either of the schemes has the advantages of its own. The monolithically cast comparatively good in technical and economic terms applicable to general grade separation design. Whereas the construction of suspended beam scheme is of less disturbance, it is particularly so for large span rigidly suspended beams, which are more convenient in field construction. The latter is found to be a better solution to road projects under construction where the road is of heavy traffic and can be in no way closed for the sake of construction.
