Causes and Treatment Measures for Laminated Rubber Bearing Diseases of Highway Bridges

According to inspections of laminated rubber bearings of highway bridges in Guangdong Province, the diseases existed in this kind of bearings are mainly including serious shear deformation, disengaging, cracking and replacement, etc. In this article, the formation causes and mechanism of diseases in laminated rubber bearings have been analyzed and the corresponding preventive measures have been proposed. Moreover, those substandard bearings can be repaired or replaced by Jacking-up Technique. The research results can provide reference and support for the design, construction and maintenance of laminated rubber bearings of highway bridges.
