澳大利亚铁路行业蓬勃发展

澳大利亚铁路已有150多年的历史。截至2004年7月，全国铁路总长为44000多公里，其中以电气化铁路为主，主要集中在东南沿海地区，中西部地区很少。澳大利亚铁路大都为私人所有，货运公司除昆士兰州一家是国有外，其余都是私人所有。较大的铁路公司有26家，各公司之间的轨距都不一样，而且每个州都有自己的法律和通信网络。

Australia Railway Industry is Booming

Australia railway has more than 150 years of history. As of July 2004, the national railway total length is more than 44000 kilometers, of which mainly is electrified railway, and mainly concentrated in the southeast coastal areas, rarely in central and western regions. Australia Railway are mostly owned privately, except Queensland freight company, while the rest are privately owned.
