| Abstract: | The paper summarizes the evolution and basic approaches of sheet forming simulation (SFS) and describes the current situation and research progress on some fundamental topics of the technology, such as the dynamic explicit method, the contact treatment, the constitutive relation and the finite element program. Then, the application of sheet forming simulation as a breakthrough in the CAE technology in some foreign auto and forming industries is presented, and in view of practice, some further demands and improvements for the technology are pointed out. |
