| Abstract: | The escalating piracy and armed robbery against ships in the Gulf of Aden and off Somalia coasts has seriously threatened the safety of ships and security of seafarers in the region, This paper analyses the characteristics and possible sources of the unlawful acts of piracy and provides some suggestions on the necessary measures to prevent and response to the piracy attacks with a view to ensuring safety of the ship and life of the crew. |
