Abstract: | To address the safety issue of internal short circuit (ISC) in lithium ion batteries, this paper studies the formation mechanisms and diagnosis methods for ISC. Initially, the mechanisms of ISC formation are analyzed from four aspects: internal battery defects, mechanical abuse, electrical abuse and thermal abuse. Then, the paper investigates the ISC detection methods based on model-driven techniques, sensor signal processing and knowledge-based approaches. The characteristics of different diagnostic technologies are
thoroughly analyzed as well. Finally, considering the challenges currently faced by fault diagnosis technology, the paper puts forward the future direction for lithium-ion battery internal short circuit diagnosis methods, integrating big data, 5G communication and vehicle-side cloud intelligent networking technologies. |
