| Abstract: | Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has a long record of distinguished service to the metropolitan Washington D.C. WMATA was established in 1967, as an Interstate Compact Agency to serve the mobility needs of the national capital area. Based on an outline of its operation, the history of Washington Metro is reviewed in detail and the blueprint for its future development is described. |
