Modal Analysis of Upper Floor of Double-Deck Coaches

This paper discusses the significance of the modal analysis of upper floor of double-deck coaches. The structural forms of upper floor and the calculating method of the modal analysis by finite element method are presented. In the experimental part of the paper, the authors illustrate the principle of the exper- iment, and indicate points should be noticed. The frequencies and mode shapes obtained by the above two methods are shown in the paper. Lastly, some consequences are deduced by com- paring and analysing the results obtained by both methods.
