摘    要:莫言是当代中国文坛上一个标杆性作家。莫言的长篇小说《檀香刑》中描写了两位与众不同的女姓——孙眉娘和钱夫人,她们一个处于民间社会,一个处于上流社会;一个是天足大脚,一个是三寸金莲;一个仗着一双大脚到处抛头露面,一个遵守封建礼教足不出户。她们都是封建社会小脚文化的牺牲品,她们摆脱不了迎合男人、取悦男人的可悲命运。莫言启承鲁迅等五四作家的国民性批判精神,在小说中对小脚文化作出了冷峻的解读,在大脚与小脚的较量和对比中,展现了封建小脚文化的荒唐昏聩,表达了作家强烈的批判精神。

Abstract:MO Yan is a landmark writer in the contemporary literature of China. He describes two distin- guished female figures SUN Mei-niang and Lady QIAN in his long story Sandalwood Punishment. Of these two figures one lives in folk society, the other in upper class; one with her big feet always shows her face in the public, the other complies with the feudal ethical code. They are the victim of the bound feet culture of the feudal ethical code who cannot get rid of the sad fate to please man. MoYan opens here the May 4th writers', such as LU Xun's, critical spirit. In his story the bound feet culture is interpreted critically in the comparison of the two figures' feet, which announces the absurd dote bound feet culture and expresses the writers critical spirits.
