| Abstract: | This paper analyses the classification of contaminants, the damage caused therefrom and the reason of the contamination of oil used in the marine diesel engine system. Measuring methods of the solid granulated contaminants from the oil and the contamination degree criterion are introduced. Suggestions about how to lower the contamination degree from system oil and to improve the operational reliability of the diesel engine are discussed. |
