论言外行为在大学英语教学中的运用

摘    要:在英语教学中,学生往往只理解句子的表面意思,却不理解句子的言外之意,不能通过言内和言外的连贯作用把文章的深层含义理解透彻;而老师由于时间关系,可能无法详细讲解言外行为在英语中的作用,从而师生都忽视它的作用.本文从理论和实践相结合的角度分析言外行为在英语教学中的作用.

Abstract:With more and more importance being attached to communicative competence, both teachers and students have become aware how essential comprehension is for communication. However, when they do listening or reading comprehension, some students often complain of having such difficulties. That is, even when they un- derstand all the words they have heard/read, they still can not figure out what the speakers or writers mean and can not make correct judgments. To make it worse, teachers are often at a loss about how to help their students to solve this kind of problems. This article aims at to help both teachers and students to solve it and to help students to improve their listening and reading ability by using the illocutionary force in the speech act theory.
