| Abstract: | Operating principle of power factor compensating device for 8K electric locomotive is briefly described as well as its parameter selection, switching on and off control. It is also provided here the control method for mitigating the current impact produced when turning on or off the device in braking operation. Besides, the author analyzes some particular problems arose in regenerative braking and gives their solution. |
