Quantitative analysis of the relationship between container terminal development in the Pearl River Delta and that in Hong Kong

In view of different points concerned of the container terminal development in the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong port, and based on foreign-trade container generation volumes of Guangdong province and the plan and current situation of container terminals in the Pearl River Delta, we analyze the current situation and relationship between Shenzhen port, Guangzhou Port and Hong Kong port. Using forward and reverse thinking and quantitative analysis, we forecast and find out the complementary relationship of throughput between these container terminals in Hong Kong and in the Pearl River Delta under different situations, and explore the balance points of their common prosperity and harmonious development.
