动物具有显著的特征，英汉语言中对这些特性看法总体相同，但是由于不同的文化背景，对同一动物词赋予不同的文化内涵，通常一种动物的概念意义完全相同而其文化内涵却有明显差异。因此英汉两种语言使用和翻译中应该注意到该词的文化内涵，避免出现歧义。英汉动物词作为社会文化的一部分，在进行英汉互译时必须考虑文化的影响和制约。

Animals have obvious characters which are the same both in English and Chinese eyes, so most of animal words or phrases have the same or similar sense both to Chinese and English, but to some animal word different culture context has different association and dif- ferent connotations. Sometimes, some kind of animal which has the same concept sense while its culture connotation is different or even completely adverse. Animal words have ob- vious national culture characters , some part of them have colorful senses, so when you are u- sing the English and Chinese language or doing translation ,you should notice the word＇s dif- ferent culture connotation and avoid being equivocal . Language is a reflection of social life, is a part of social culture. Animal words as a part of social culture, when doing translation, you should pay attention to the culture influence and restriction.
