Analysis of Key Issues of China VI Diesel Particulate Filter in Engineering Applications

Abstract:By analyzing the emission regulations of China Ⅵ andconsidering the after-treatment technology developmentof China Ⅵ in the original equipment manufacturers(OEM) market and China’s unique geographical environment, this paper summarizes the key and difficult issues of the China Ⅵ diesel particulate filter(DPF). On the whole, the development of DPF with high cell density, thin substrate, high strength and asymmetric tunnel structure is a key issue for China Ⅵ diesel engines. Meanwhile the filtration and regeneration characteristics of the DPF in plateau are also the core issues worthy of further study. The new generation of China Ⅵ DPF is mainly facing the following technical problems:(1) There is a trade-off relationship between pressure drop and the DPF filtration efficiency, and especially the PN filtration efficiency needs to be higher than 99%;(2) the DPF with the filtration and regeneration characteristics is a device based on fluid-solid-thermal multi-field coupling, which needs to beoptimized with the control strategy to avoid the occurrence of DPF detonation and to improve the DPF reliability and durability.(3) The low pressure and low oxygenenvironment in the plateau leads to the great change inPM/PN and physical characteristics of the original engine particle emissions, and the driving conditions on the mountain roads are more difficult, which poses a greater challenge to the DPF filtration regeneration and reliability requirements.
