Transportation and Erection Schemes for 105-m Span Steel and Concrete Composite Girders of Changjiang River Bridge Works of Chongming Crossing in Shanghai

The lifting,transportation and erection of the 105-m span steel and concrete composite girders of Contract B4,the Changjiang River Bridge Works of Chongming Crossing in Shanghai were all undertaken by the 3 000-t capacity "Tianyi" purpose-built girder transportation and erection lifting vessel.This paper introduces the construction schemes for lifting of the girders at lifting wharf,temporary fixation of the girders aboard the vessel,safety monitoring and control of the girders and vessel on the way of transportation,anchoring and positioning of the vessel and erection of the girders at the bridge site.
