The Innovation and the Competition in Shipbuilding Industry

Based on the review of shipbuilding history and the prediction of future shipbuilding technology progress, this paper points out that the basic principle of ship production is a continued innovation of "joint technology" and "social production", the "space lanes" and "sequential schedule" of shipbuilding process in the range of shipyards may be considered as the essential features of modern shipbuilding, while the "simultaneous production of associated manufactures" and the "overall modularization" may be considered as the essential features of future shipbuilding.
