Progress of the Volume Index Test on Asphalt Mixture Performance Analysis

Volume of Air Voids,Voids in Mineral Aggregate and Voids Filled with Asphalt are the three most important volume indicators,they directly affect the performance of asphalt mixtures.This paper discusses the testing technology progress of the volume indicators and its impact on the asphalt mixture based on the literature review and engineering practice data.The relations and internal factors of the volume indicators are interpreted by a Superpaver mixture design of one expressway in Guangdong province.
