铁路信息系统通常采用由国外软件公司开发的商业软件(如操作系统、数据库管理系统及服务器软件等),源代码不开放,且存在安全漏洞和后门,给铁路信息系统的安全带来了许多隐患.开放源码软件价格低廉甚至免费,源代码向公众开放,易于发现漏洞和安全隐患并能及时得到更正.

Development on application of open source software to Railway Information System

Expensive commercial software (operating system, database management system, server software, etc.) developedby foreign country software company was usually used in Railway Information System, its source code was not opened topublic, security leakes and hidden were existed, much hidden trouble was brought to the security of Railway InformationSystem. The open source software was very cheap and even free of charge, its source code was opened to public, the leak andhidden security trouble could be easily found and be corrected in time. The source code of open source software could be usedto develop those software which the knowledge property right could be owned by us, that had great meanings to theinformation system security of our countrys key departments such as railway. The basic characteristics, categories andlicense of open source software and its application in Railway Information System were introduced in this paper.
