Discussion of the Role of the Design in the Project Investment and Cost Control

In the international project EPC general contracting mode, strengthening the design of project investment and cost management and control is crucial, and which directly affects the contractor economic benefits. Based on analysis of the problems existing in design in the project investment and cost control, through the project example, the role of design in total price contract and unit price contract projects is dis cussed. The results show that by design scheme comparison and optimization, the construction investment can be saved and the project cost can be reduced.
