| Abstract: | This paper introduces the geological features of 13eijing area and the shield type in accordance with these features.The characteristics of shield tunnel construction in the three typical kinds of strata in Beijing area and its application in the construction of Beijing metro are discussed. The key issues of shield tunnel for waste water drainage in Beijing are also explored. |
