针对基于大数据的道路交通管理进行回顾和反思,以期促进道路交通管理者及业界对大数据研究和应用的正确认识。在总结和分析交通大数据领域科研和实践情况的基础上,指出在交通管理领域研究和应用大数据技术的过程中,要回归交通管理信息化发展的初衷,科学理性决策,既要看到大数据技术的价值,也要看到其局限以及在成本、风险和应用基础方面的挑战。应对近年来道路交通信息化管理所面临的新形势,提出其发展路径应该遵循既要发展大数据,又要善用"小数据"的原则。发展大数据技术要积极稳健、科学合理,同时加强对现有交通数据信息的充分利用和价值挖掘,注重实践,夯实科学交通管理的基础。

Retrospection on Big Data-based Road Traffic Management:Smal er Can be Better as Wel

To assist traffic control and management professionals correctly comprehending the big-data re-search and application, this paper reviews and rethinks the big data-based road traffic management. By summarizing the research and practice in transportation big data, the paper points out that it is necessary to study and apply big data technology to traffic management for the intended purposes with coherent applica-tion decisions, which means while recognize the great potential of big-data technology, one must also ac-knowledge its limitations on cost, liability and chandleries in application. Facing the new situation of trans-portation information management in recent years, the paper emphasizes that both big data and“small da-ta”should be utilized properly in traffic management. The big data technology development must be posi-tively steady and coherent. And at the same time, it is important to fully use the existing transportation data and information in practice to enhance the fundamentals of traffic management.
