Abstract: | To disclose between the prognosticsignificance and quantitative observation of mast celland AgNOR in malignant fibrous histiocytoma(MFH), toluidine blue and AgNOR staining methods were used to detect the mast cell and silverbinding nucleolar organizer regions in 41 cases ofMFH with complete data and following-up results, with stereology and routine methods. The mast cellquantitative in the peripheral area was higher thanthat in the center area and the normal tissue (P <0. 001), and positive relation could be seen betweenthe mast cell quantitative in the peripheral area andsurvival term of the patients (r=0. 7353,P <0. 001), the survival term of high mast cell quantitaive group was longer. The mast cell quantitiativeof no metastasis group and superficial tumor groupwas higher than that of metastasis group (P<0. 05), and deep tumor group (P < 0. 05). A negative relation (r=-0. 6107,P < 0. 001) betweenquantitative AgNOR and survival term of the patients was seen. The more AgNOR quantity, theshoter survival period, and the higher malignant degree of the tumor (P < 0. 01), AgNOR quantity inmetastasis group and deep tumor group was higherthan in no metastasis group and superficial tumorgroup (P < 0. 05). The closely relation betweenthe variable quantities of mast cell around the MFHalong with AgNOR and survival term of the patientsare seen. The variable quantities of mast cell andAgNOR are closely related to the metastasis and superficial or deep site of the MFH, which are aboutmalignant degree of the tumor. Therefore, it shouldbe attached importance to the significance of themast cell quantity in the peripheral area of the tumor and the AgNOR quantity in the tumor cell nucleus, which infers malignant degree and prognosisof MFH. |
