Transverse Strengthening Method of T-girder Bridge and Its Application

A large number of T-girder bridges had been built around 1980s in China ,some of them can no longer meet the requirements of modern transportation which are in urgent need of maintenance and reinforcement . This paper introduces the lateral reinforcement method of T-girders ,and combined with the reinforcement case of a bridge in Wuhan,provides specific introduction for reinforcement effect and the application of lateral reinforcement methods ,such as how to change the hinged joints of old T-girder bridges flanges into rigid connections,how to reinforce the diaphragms,adding precast diaphragms etc., which can be used as reference for the reinforcement of T-girder bridge.
