Analysis for Application of Satellite-borne SAR Technology in Intelligent Traffic

This paper analyzes the application of satellite- borne SAR technology in traffic field, summarizes two traditional traffic monitoring methods, points out that traffic is important direction of application of satellite remote sensing technology, and conducts comparative analysis for three sensing technologies-low altitude remote sensing technology, satellite-borne optical remote sensing technology and satellite-borne SAR technology. The paper puts emphasis on advantages and disadvantage of satellite- borne SAR, conducts deep analysis for its application in intelligent traffic, expatiates its application prospect in detection of road network information, sensing for state of motion of single vehicle and sensing for state of motion of vehicle group, and points out key technical breakthrough direction of its application in traffic.
