To estimate the maneuvering ability of a ship, an accurate estimation of the hydrodynamic forces and moment acting on the ship's hull is indispensable. For the purpose of developing a numerical method of computing the viscous flow field around a hull and evaluating its validity, the hydrodynamic pressure on the hull and the velocity field were measured. Two full ship models with different hull forms in the aft part were used for the experiment. From the results of pressure measurements, the distribution of hydrodynamic lateral forces was obtained. The simulation method is a numerical solution of the Navier-Stokes equation based on a finitevolume method and applied to the maneuvering motion. The measured and computed results agree qualitatively well, and the method is a valuable tool for estimating the maneuvering ability of a ship. A new type of contrarotating propeller (CRP) system has been developed through the cooperative research work of five shipbuilding companies in Japan (Hitachi Zosen Corporation; Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.; Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.; NKK Corporation; and Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd.). This paper describes a design system for an optimum CRP, which is one of the numerous outcomes of this work. The optimum design system is composed of three theoretical programs: (1) the design program of the optimum CRP; (2) the steady lifting surface program of the CRP; (3) the unsteady lifting surface program of the CRP. The objectives of this study were the development of a new device for maneuvering an underwater vehicle using the mechanism
of a fish swimming, an experimental and theoretical analysis of the hydrodynamic characteristics of the device, and its application
to maneuvering a fish robot. Observations and experimental analysis of the pectoral fins of a black bass (Micropterus salmoides) revealed that the locomotion of the fish, such as swimming forward at low speed, swimming backward, and turning in a horizontal
plane is generated by using a combination of a feathering motion and a lead-lag motion of the pectoral fins. A mechanical
pectoral fin making a feathering motion and a lead-lag motion generates a thrust force in a range of phase differences between
both motions. The unsteady vortex lattice method, including the effect of viscosity, can express fairly well the unsteady
forces acting on the mechanical pectoral fin in the range of phase differences where it exerts the thrust force. The fish
robot, consisting of a model fish body and a pair of mechanical pectoral fins, can not only swim forward and turn in almost
the same position, but can also swim in a lateral direction without changing the yaw angle.

Process planning for a hull structure defines the assembly sequence of the hull block. Although this activity is very important
because the working strategy defines the production costs, to date it has been done manually. To raise the efficiency of this
process, we developed a practical computer-aided process planning system. It has been developed using deliverables obtained
from advanced computer integrated manufacturing system (CIM; ACIM) for shipbuilding projects sponsored by the Ship and Ocean
Foundation (SOF). The system has a knowledge base which contains the know-how of skilled designers as well as design practices,
and allows the assembly sequence of hull parts and intermediate products to be defined automatically. The system has been
integrated with the shipyard CAD system MATES, and put to practical use.

Out-of-plane welding distortions of block structures during fabrication of offshore structure will significantly influence its dimensional accuracy and production schedule. Taking a B514 block of a semi-submersible lifting and disassembly platform as research object, typical welded joints and their welding conditions were summarized based on actual welding procedure specification (WPS). Effective thermal elastic plastic (TEP) finite element (FE) analysis with parallel computation technology was carried out to examine thermal-mechanical response. Welding inherent deformations, which are considered as the elementary cause of welding distortion, were then evaluated. With welding inherent deformations as mechanical loading, elastic finite element (FE) analysis was then employed to predict dimensional accuracy of examined B514 block, which has a good agreement with measurement data. In order to ensure the fabrication accuracy with less out-of-plane welding distortion, inverse deformation approach was applied to reduce the out-of-plane welding distortion, and influence of welding sequence on out-of-plane welding distortion was also examined. Both mitigation practices have obvious effect on dimensional accuracy of examined B514 block, while corresponding mechanical mechanisms were also clarified. 相似文献

船体分段在焊接过程中产生的焊接变形会使船体结构强度降低,然而精确预测和控制焊接变形是个难题.文章提供了准确预测焊接变形的固有应变等效载荷法.这种方法运用有限元法结合固有应变理论以及实验结果对焊接变形进行分析:引入简化的弹-塑性分析杆-弹簧模型,通过分析得到固有应变受焊接区域约束度及最高温度分布情况的影响;将固有应变转化为等效载荷,应用弹性有限元分析求得整个结构的焊接变形.计算结果与LEECH计算及实验结果吻合较好. 相似文献

采用基于固有应变法的弹性有限元分析预测大型复杂结构的焊接变形的前提是必须已知焊缝附近的固有变形。结构的焊接残余应力与焊接变形取决于其接头的固有变形大小及分布,因此开发精确计算接头固有变形的方法,并依此建立一个完善的固有变形数据库对于大型复杂结构焊接变形的预测有重要意义。文中提出了几种计算固有变形的方法包括公式法、热弹塑性有限元法、实测法,并分别采用这几种方法对典型T型接头的横向固有收缩与纵向固有收缩进行计算,三种方法得到的结果比较一致。在此基础上,进一步以典型船体结构为研究对象,采用依照这三种方法建立的固有变形数据库对其焊接变形进行预测,并与实测数据进行比较,验证了该数据库的有效性。 相似文献

Q345R钢是普通低合金高强度钢,广泛的用于压力容器制造行业。其S、P含量控制较严,焊接性较好,但是由于含有一定量的合金元素,淬硬、冷裂倾向都比低碳钢大一些。通过船用氮气储存罐的筒体和封头环焊缝的焊接,分析了Q345R钢的化学成分和机械性能,通过选用合理的焊接材料、坡口形式、焊接方法、焊接工艺来保证储存罐的焊缝质量。 相似文献

预测船体复杂结构的焊接变形对制造工艺设计和精度控制具有重要的工程价值.基于固有应变理论,利用船体结构焊接变形预测专用软件Weld-sta对多用途船双层底结构焊接变形进行了预测,发现船长方向收缩最大变形量为13.2mm,船宽方向最大变形量14.5 mm.通过数值模拟结果与实验实测值的对比,可以得到软件计算的精度超过80%,验证了固有应变理论及软件用于焊接变形预测的可靠性,并在此基础上针对船体总段船台合拢的焊接变形进行了预测,发现焊接总收缩变形量为50.339 mm,与实际加工经验基本吻合.根据此结论可以针对各船体总段预留合理的焊接变形收缩量,验证了固有应变为基础的弹性板单元有限元预测法在船体总段合拢焊接中应用的可行性. 相似文献

自升式平台的桩腿由多段大厚度高强钢圆筒拼接而成,需要大量的多层多道焊工艺,导致复杂的焊接变形与残余应力,是桩腿加工精度和安全性检验中需要格外关注的问题。焊接变形、应力与焊接工艺参数和工艺措施有关,因此本文选取了四项对焊接变形、应力有重要影响的工艺参数:预热温度,保温缓冷措施,焊接速度和约束条件,通过热弹塑性有限元计算,分析这四项工艺参数对圆筒圆度、应力极值的影响,并基于对焊接变形与应力的综合控制,提出了工艺优化建议。 相似文献

In ship hull production, the accuracy of management activities is extremely important. The block positioning operation in
the erection stage is a key process in such management. The quality of the block positioning determines not only the accuracy
of the final hull, but also the productivity and cost at the erection stage. We have previously proposed the basic concepts
of computer-aided accuracy management. Accuracy management activities consist of "accuracy planning activities" and "accuracy
measurement activities." Accuracy measurement activities involve checking and coping with inaccuracy. We have also proposed
a system of accuracy measurement metrics: one is accuracy for completion (e.g., straightness, flatness), and the other is
accuracy for construction (e.g., the relative joint shapes of each part). This paper explains the detailed accuracy metrics
for a block positioning operation in the erection stage. The quality of the block positioning operation is estimated by this
system: the accuracy of the completed hull can be evaluated by the concept of tolerance, and the accuracy of the construction
process can be evaluated by the concept of labor costs. The prototype of this accuracy metrics system is then implemented.
This metrics system is combined with the optimization software program iSIGHT to decide the best block positioning process.
Then some examples of the block position optimizing process are shown.

Welding sequence has a significant effect on distortion pattern of large orthogonally stiffened panels normally used in ships and offshore structures. These deformations adversely affect the subsequent fitup and alignment of the adjacent panels. It may also result in loss of structural integrity. These panels primarily suffer from angular and buckling distortions. The extent of distortion depends on several parameters such as welding speed, plate thickness, welding current, voltage, restraints applied to the job while welding, thermal history as well as sequence of welding. Numerical modeling of welding and experimental validation of the FE model has been carried out for estimation of thermal history and resulting distortions. In the present work an FE model has been developed for studying the effect of welding sequence on the distortion pattern and its magnitude in fabrication of orthogonally stiffened plate panels. 相似文献
