Numerical uncertainty due to discretization on the Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) Finite Element method is investigated in the study. The paper quantifies uncertainty using two ITTC recommended methods, and also applies a constant Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy (CFL) number based discretization approach, instead of performing the independent grid and time-based discretization recommended by ITTC. As a case study, water entry of a flat bottom rigid and flexible plate is simulated considering various entry velocities. The total slamming loads and structural responses on both the rigid and elastic bottom plates are predicted and validated against available experimental data. Results indicate that numerical errors due to discretization differ in the various parameters and from case to case. They do affect the analysis of slamming loads and associated structural responses, and the hydroelasticity analysis as well. The hydroelasticity effects on the slamming force generally increase as the entry velocity increases, however, the quantitative results differ much for models with different grids. For example, when the hydroelasticity effect is estimated using the finer model, the deviation of the total slamming force on the elastic plate relative to the one on the rigid body are 56%, 57%, and 63% respectively for the three constant entry velocities, whereas the estimations are −27%, −4% and 3% with the coarser model. The study concludes that the uncertainty due to discretization in ALE is not just case-specific, but also parameter specific. The uncertainty quantification procedures with a constant CFL number based refinement are recommended to investigate the uncertainty comparing to the individual grid and time step study, in particular for the ALE solution where the time step is adjusted automatically as the grid changes. Thus, consideration should be given to updating the ITTC guidelines to incorporate the constant CFL based discretization approach.  相似文献

自从1992年ITTC-QS工作组致函ITTC技术委员会提请ITTC各成员单位依照ANSI/ASME PTC 19.1开展测量不确定度评定以来,不确定度分析一直是热门议题.AIAA于1999年发布了风洞试验不确定度分析的指南.ITTC从1999年起逐步发布了一系列关于船模试验不确定度分析的规程.在这些规程中,由模型加工误差引起的水动力系数不确定度分量一般是通过水动力系数的(无量纲)表达式进行分析计算的.这种分析,从数学上是合理的,但从物理上分析和依据工程判断,有些则是相当不合理的,甚至是分析中的一个误区.文章列举了若干实例对此进行了阐述,并提出:对于因水动力无量纲化而引入的几何参数,其不确定度影响分量不能简单地依据所采用的无量纲表达式进行分析评定,而是要基于水动力学的分析进行合理的评定.  相似文献

As a new type of hull form, trimaran has remarkable excellent performances and has drawn more and more attention. When the viscous CFD technology now available is applied to the research of resistance performance of trimaran, the spatial discretization would usually result in the grid error and uncertainty, and thus the considerable discrepancy between the numerical results and the experimental data. In order to ascertain how much the grid would affect the calculation, the grid convergence should be studied. A mathematical trimaran was chosen as an example, with the commercial code CFX for the simulation, VOF for surface treatment, and the grid study was carried out based on two different turbulence models. It was concluded that carrying out grid study is helpful in estimating the grid error and uncertainty, and indicating the direction of improving the credibility of the numerical calculation, and, in addition to grid errors and uncertainties, the turbulence modeling errors and uncertainties contribute to the simulation errors.  相似文献

船舶阻力性能对船型参数的确定、船体结构的设计有重要影响。本文以Wigley船模为研究对象,采用CFD方法建立了行船阻力分析系统,以实际海况数据为依据,确定较准确的参数和边界条件,分析了不同航速(傅汝德数)下的低速行船阻力,并与理论公式对比分析。仿真测试结果表明:在实际海况数据下,CFD数值模拟阻力与理论ITTC公式计算的阻力误差在2%以内且发展趋势一致。本文的研究为采用CFD研究行船阻力奠定基础。  相似文献

The value of form factor k at different drafts is important in predicting full-scale total resistance and speed for different types of ships. In the ITTC community, most organizations predict form factor k using a low-speed model test. However, this method is problematic for ships with bulbous bows and transom. In this article, a Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)-based method is introduced to obtain k for different type of ships at different drafts, and a comparison is made between the CFD method and the model test. The results show that the CFD method produces reasonable k values. A grid generating method and turbulence model are briefly discussed in the context of obtaining a consistent k using CFD.  相似文献

参考国际拖曳水池会议(ITTC)推荐的规程,对船模拖曳水池的阻力试验进行不确定度分析。根据船模阻力试验的流程,确定试验过程中的误差源;根据不确定度的传递方程,确定误差源对试验结果的影响;基于一艘船模标准模型进行带舵的复合航次重复试验,并根据试验误差源分析得到试验结果的不确定度。在此基础上,提出降低试验不确定度的方法。分析结果表明,在95%置信水平下(k=2),总阻力及其主要水动力系数的不确定度均小于1%,试验结果可作为标模基准校验使用。  相似文献

Floating moored offshore structures have a significant future in offshore operations as an attractive economic alternative to fixed structures in deep waters and/or in areas where there is no existing infrastructure. This paper describes an analysis procedure based on the structure variable approach to estimate load and response values of a moored offshore platform at a given return period by taking into account the joint occurrence of wave, wind, and current. The results show that the most severe mooring loads may not occur when wind, wave, and current are collinear and are at their maximum design values, i.e., the 50- or 100-year case. It is recommended that the extreme mooring design loads for moored offshore systems should be determined through a range of physical or numerical simulations where wave, wind, and current are noncollinear and act with less severe magnitudes than the 50- or 100-year case. This recommendation has also been adopted in the ITTC/Ocean Engineering Committee recommendations to the ITTC Conference held in September 1996.  相似文献

为了研究带自由面的船舶湍流绕流场,选择了一艘ITTC推荐的公开船模作为模拟对象,数值求解RANS方程。此模型为带声呐导流罩和方形尾封板的复杂水面舰船。采用Ogrid块拓扑算法生成质量较高的纯六面体多块结构化网格,计算中采用RNG k-ε湍流模式和标准壁面函数,并使用VOF算法来捕捉自由面。空间离散采用QUICK格式,压力-速度解耦采用PISO算法。将阻力和波形的数值结果与实验数据相比较,总阻力系数误差约2%,船侧波形、船首自由面吻合良好,显示了CFD方法在船舶水动力学中预测带自由面湍流绕流场的有效性。  相似文献

比拟测量不确定度,视CFD模拟结果为随机变量,阐述了CFD模拟不确定度的定义、来源、分类和表示形式.基于正交试验设计和方差分析方法,提出了CFD不确定度分析中验证的内涵及实施流程;基于统计推断理论,提出了CFD不确定度评估中确认的标准及判断程序.应用Fluent软件及文中所建方法,针对阻力系数和伴流分数进行CFD模拟不确定度分析评估的实例计算,给出了对模拟结果有重要影响的计算因子和交互作用以及各类不确定度分量的大小,并指出就目前采用的CFD模拟技术而言,尽管其结果的分散性或不确定度数倍于物理试验,但其近似性或可信度已可接受.  相似文献

随着计算机和CFD技术水平的提高,数值模拟所需时间逐渐缩短、准确度逐步提高,利用数值模拟作为一种辅助手段进行方案择优已经逐渐流行。本文利用商用软件对广船国际提供的某油船三种线型进行了设计和结构吃水工况下的数值计算,包括阻力、自航计算,并且根据ITTC推荐规程做了实船尺度下的数据分析;以实船尺度下保持目标航速所需要的收到功率最小为评判标准,通过对该船三个方案线型不同吃水情况下计算结果的比较分析,评价了线型方案的优劣。通过数值模拟结果与物理试验结果的比较分析,验证了本文计算方法可靠性和准确性,也展示了数值模拟在船型方案择优过程中的作用,可以用于综合评价不同方案线型的船舶水动力性能。  相似文献

航行船舶绕射问题的准确求解是预报船舶波浪中运动的基础.文章分别采用基于三维移动脉动源的边界元法和基于RANS方程的CFD方法求解了规则波中航行的方尾船模型的波浪力,并通过与试验结果比较验证了方法的可靠性.CFD计算时通过从波浪力中分离出粘性力,研究了粘性对方尾船波浪力的影响.结果表明,基于RANS方程的波浪力计算结果与试验结果和势流理论结果吻合良好,在长波中与试验值更接近.粘性对船模斜浪航行时的横摇力矩有较大影响.  相似文献

测量不确定度分析是以定量的形式给出试验结果的品质和可信度,是模型试验分析中必要的一个组成部分.本文结合旋臂水池操纵性模型试验,比较了分析第22、23届ITTC会议公布的关于船舶测量不确定度的分析方法和<测量不确定度表示指南>(GUM)中推荐的测量不确定分析方法,结果表明GUM是通用的测量不确定度分析方法.在小置信概率时ITTC的适用性将受限制,此时推荐使用GUM描述.  相似文献

介绍Hoekstra船模伴流修正方法、伴流模拟方法及螺旋桨激振力测量的试验过程。以第16届ITTC推荐的Sydney Express桨为研究对象,在上海船舶运输科学研究所空泡实验室用网格方法模拟船舶艉部流场,通过布置在桨模上方相应位置平板上的5个传感器进行了脉动压力测量。比较螺旋桨在船模伴流场和使用Hoekstra法换算得到的实船伴流场中工作时激振力的预报值及桨模空泡形态,并与实桨对比,就伴流场修正对螺旋桨激振力预报的影响作了探讨。  相似文献

The reliability of an offshore structure is dependent on its response to the extreme wave climate; therefore, an adequate knowledge of the wave climate at a location is a prerequisite during design as well as in marine operations. This study aims to contribute to the knowledge of the extreme wave climate in the Norwegian Sector of the Barents Sea, using wave hindcast datasets from the Norwegian Reanalysis 10 km (NORA10) database for four locations.We have considered three commonly used methods for the estimation of extreme wave heights, that is, the initial distribution method, the peak over threshold method, and the annual maxima method. The parametric bootstrap concept is considered in the estimation of the epistemic uncertainty related to sample size. The estimated 100-year significant wave heights obtained from the three methods differ, and the degree of variability in the estimates varies, depending on the dataset. The epistemic uncertainty due to sample size is wider when considering the annual maxima method.The estimates obtained from the three methods show the importance of considering different methods and their associated uncertainties when estimating extreme wave values for design. While it is difficult to single out the best method among the three, the estimated values give knowledge of the possible range of the extreme significant wave heights at the locations. Generally, the datasets considered in this study suggest that the wave climate is less harsh further north compared to the southern region of the Barents Sea. The datasets do not suggest any temporal trends in the historical significant wave heights at any of the locations.  相似文献

This study presents a numerical method for optimizing hull form in calm water with respect to total drag which contains a viscous drag and a wave drag. The ITTC 1957 model-ship correlation line was used to predict frictional drag and the corrected linearized thin-ship theory was employed to estimate the wave drag. The evolution strategy (ES) which is a member of the evolutionary algorithms (EAs) family obtains an optimum hull form by considering some design constraints. Standard Wigley hull is considered as an initial hull in optimization procedures for two test cases and new hull forms were achieved at Froude numbers 0.24, 0.316 and 0.408. In one case the ES technique was ran for the initial hull form, where the main dimensions were fixed and the only variables were the hull offsets. In the other case in addition to hull offsets, the main dimensions were considered as variables that are optimized simultaneously. The numerical results of optimization procedure demonstrate that the optimized hull forms yield a reduction in total drag.  相似文献

A framework for assessing convergence and validation of non-intrusive uncertainty quantification (UQ) methods is studied and applied to a complex industrial problem in ship design, namely the high-speed Delft Catamaran advancing in calm water, with variable Froude number and geometry. Relationship between UQ studies and deterministic verification and validation is discussed. Computations are performed using high- (URANS) and low- (potential flow) fidelity simulations. Froude number has expected value and standard deviation equal to 0.5 and 0.05, respectively, on a truncated normal distribution. Geometric uncertainty is related to the research space of a simulation-based design optimization, and assessed through the Karhunen–Loève expansion (KLE). Monte Carlo method with Latin hypercube sampling (MC-LHS) is used to compute expected value, standard deviation, distribution and uncertainty intervals for resistance, sinkage and trim. MC-LHS with CFD is used as a benchmark for validating less costly UQ methods, including MC-LHS with metamodels and standard quadrature formulas. Gaussian quadrature is found the most efficient method; however, MC-LHS with metamodels is preferred since provides with confidence intervals and distributions in a straightforward way and at reasonably small computational cost. UQ results are compared to earlier deterministic single- and multi-objective optimization; reduced-dimensional KLE studies for geometric variability indicate that stochastic optimization would not be of great benefit for the present problem.  相似文献

随着能效设计指数(EEDI)的强制实施,船舶节能减排日益受到重视,对新造船舶的性能提出了更高的要求.IMO相继出台的EEDIweather自愿导则能够更全面地衡量船舶在风浪中的能效指标,其中系数fw对EEDIweather的计算有重要影响.为建立fw的快速预报方法,在设计阶段初步评估了船舶性能,进行了系列耐波性模型试验,并以试验结果为基础,结合ITTC推荐的阻力推力法(RTIM)计算了fw.应用多元回归分析得到fw的经验公式,经验证有良好的工程应用价值.  相似文献
